Soil Pigments

I use soil as medium as a communication to get people’s attention, to get people inspired and to think about soil as a beautiful indispensable natural resource that deserves to be protected, managed and cultivated that belongs to us all.

I am fascinated by its textures, colours, smells, different gradient shades of colours and its beauty.

Collecting soil samples from different sites has very rapidly becoming my passion and it is helping me to understand my role as an artist. My passion is for landscape and nature and my special interest is in exploring the basic alchemy of soil in order to produce aesthetically pleasing shapes and surfaces from soil and incorporate these into my ceramic practice.
