Library of Research

The pandemic presented countless restrictions which we collectively suffered, perhaps in varying ways. It was through restriction to our normal, rushed, city life, that I was forced to reconnect to the immediacy of nature. Park walks, nurturing my abandoned garden, and learning about regenerating land, were all things that led me to discovering the link between nature and art. For me, my artwork with the soil pigments is a reflection of a connection I remembered, even in the face of a disconnect from my normal life. A connection to nature, to the art that comes with it.

I have discovered a passion for research based bodies of work, capturing time and location, investigating artist glazing and the technical qualities of ceramics. Combining soil pigments in my  ceramic art, using the landscape as a source of inspiration, I have been exposed to a new conceptual and contextual critical thinking processes through my MA in Ceramics & Glass course at the Royal College of Art.
